Regeneration

Regeneration was created by interleaving plain and zinc dipped steel discs. The final form developed and evolved while experimenting with different arrangements of the discs eventually arriving at this quite organic form. Salt water was used to create a natural rust patina while the zinc coated parts remain grey.

Regeneration was selected for showing at the Royal Scottish Academy annual open exhibition at the RSA in Edinburgh in November 2012 and received the Beltane Studios Foundry award at the 125th annual exhibition at the Paisley Art Institute in May 2013. The sculpture was also selected for Visual Arts Scotland's Converge 2016 exhibition.
